Clifton was founded in 2007 on campus at the University of Exeter.
From the start we set out to create quality made to order clothing complemented by informed and conscientious client service.
Our first clients were people wanting to back a business that was different for the right reasons and our journey began.
As co-founders we spent several happy years growing up in Bristol, home of many great feats of commercial, engineering and trade endeavour.
We felt that the name Clifton reflected the quality of our products and paid homage to the city's forefathers.
Our hippo came a little later and is a tip of the hat to Bristol Zoo Gardens, home to the pygmy hippo. This endangered species is supported by an international captive breeding programme.
The hippo is a great animal which always makes its mark on those that see it, much like our customers do on the clothing we create for them.
The journey continues. We continually develop, enhance and refine our range.
We are pleased to offer an extensive work, leisure, sports and training wear product selection plus bespoke accessories.
These are all designed to meet your requirements and made to order in our exclusive production facility.

Every garment or accessory we produce has our commitment to quality ingrained in it, with our Production Team always echoing our very high standards including QC checks throughout production and final checks before your order is delivered.
